สวัสดีค่า, dear friends and my prayer warriors!

As I sit down to write this update, I find myself reflecting on the whirlwind journey that has brought me back to the United States, even if just for a brief period. For those who may not know, I have been serving as a full-term missionary volunteer English teacher in Thailand—a role that has profoundly impacted my life and escalated my faith.

A Warm Homecoming

Coming back to the States has been a mix of emotions. It's been heartwarming to reconnect with family, friends, and all of you who have been steadfast pillars of support throughout my time in Thailand, and the preparation period prior to the move. Your prayers, encouragement, and generous contributions have made a world of difference, and I have gotten to see firsthand how the Lord is moving and working in the hearts of the Thai, as well as the fruit from being able to work with my students and build relationships with this amazing people.

Life in Thailand

One thing I have learned is Never tell God no! I made it very clear I was never going to teach due to the fact I come from a long line of teachers. Not only was I mistaken, but because of the opportunity I have by volunteering at Victory, I discovered that I love teaching, and would love to pursue it as a possible career in the future. Teaching English in Thailand has been an incredible experience. Every day presents new challenges and rewards, from the joy of seeing a student grasp a new concept to the deep conversations that bridge our cultural differences. Living in the Thai way, I have been welcomed with open arms and have found my home, and my second family on the other side of the world.

My Furry Companions

A special mention must go to my two loyal companions, my puppies, Ember and Opal, who have forced me to make new friends with my neighbors, made me laugh harder than I ever have before, and who make the rare lonely times less lonely. Stopping on the side of the road and buying them from a local street vendor was one of the best decisions I've made. I may be crazy, but I have no regrets. They've not only provided companionship but also helped me integrate into the community more deeply. The countless times I have had to chase Ember down the street and apologize to my poor neighbors, and stop a chicken versus dog fight, is more than I would like to admit. Everyone who has met them has adored them. I am knocking on wood but I hope to have that continue.

Reflections and Gratitude

This visit to America has given me the opportunity to reflect on the past few months and the years to come. The work in Thailand is not just about teaching English; it’s about building relationships, sharing God's love, and making a lasting impact. None of this would be possible without your continual support. Whether through donations, letters, or prayers, you have been a crucial part of my journey.

Looking Ahead

As I prepare to return to Thailand, my heart is full of excitement and anticipation for what lies ahead. There is still so much work to be done, and I am eager to continue this journey with renewed energy and faith. I ask for your continued prayers and support as we embark on the next chapter of this incredible journey of a life time together.

Thank You

In closing, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each one of you. Your prayers, encouraging messages, and your generosity make everything possible. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of my students, their families, the people we get to interact with in our community, and I am honored to be a part of this incredible journey that the Lord has set before us.

With love and appreciation,

Baylee
